Personal Description:

I am have been a professional musician and teacher for the last 10 years since graduating with a First Class Honors Degree in Music.
I have been teaching Music in the classroom part time since 2021, and have been teaching guitar privately and in schools since 2009.
I successfully completed my PGCE with QTS qualification at Roehampton University in 2021 through Kingston School Alliance. I was placed at Tiffin Girls school where I taught KS3, KS4 and KS5, and Chessington School where I taught KS3, KS4.
I am the resident guitar teacher at Southborough High School, and Esher College where I teach guitar to students studying for their GCSE and A level performances
My background is contemporary music with a specialism in music production, and I have a 1st Class Honours degree in Music from ACM in 2009. Since graduating, I have been a private music educator specialising in peripatetic guitar, music theory, and music production lessons. I am also a published songwriter with Universal Publishing having worked with Westlife, James Morrison, Emma Bunton and more.
I have extensive experience within the events industry, having spent 6 years in the UAE running events, and performing for high profile corporate events.

Tutoring Experience:

For the last 10 years I have taught in Surrey privately, as well as in the United Arab Emirates at various schools. I have a huge amount of teaching materials that I have gathered over the years, starting with all the fundamental information I gained from doing rock school grades, and gaining my Higher diploma and music degree. One of my advanced students was accepted into berklee, and I have helped many of my students achieve grades 1-8 across 'Trinity', 'ABRSM', and 'Rock School' platforms.

Tutoring Approach:

I tailor all of my lessons to what the individual student wants to learn, but I like to make sure that my lessons are nice mix of education and fun. I like to focus on the genres of music that the student wants to learn, and mix learning songs, with theoretical and technical exercises to ensure the student can play all the songs he/she wants to, and also understand them. I teach all genres of music to the maximum standard possible, and put my heart and soul into each lesson, hoping to share my passion and love for music and the guitar with each student.
