Personal Description:

Born in Rome in 1994, Jacopo has been studying classical guitar for 11 years. During his studies, he has performed in many masterclasses with some of the worlds most well-known guitarists such as Oscar Ghiglia, Marcin Dylla, Pavel Steidl, Giulio Tampalini, Lorenzo Micheli, Carlo Marchione just to name a few.

In 2015-2016, thanks to the Erasmus+ he studied with Matthew McAllister at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and in July 2017 he graduated from the Conservatoire of Santa Cecilia in Rome under the guidance of Arturo Tallini, receiving his First Class Bachelor Degree in Music with Honours.

Jacopo has won several prizes in national and international guitar competitions with or without age limitations, such as first prizes at the International Guitar Competition “I Musici di San Lorenzo” (2016), North East Scotland Classical Guitar Society Award (2016) and International Istanbul Guitar Festival (2015). Among the other prizes: third prize at the 11th Montenegro International Guitar Competition (2017), second prize (first not awarded) at 7th International Guitar Competition Acerra Guitar Meetings” (2016), third prize at 4° International Competition “Alirio Diaz” of Rome (2015). He had also the opportunity to play the Romancero Gitano by Mario Castelnuovo Tedesco (concert for Choir and Guitar), which was a prize received during the competition ‘Premio Campus 2014’ in Bassano del Grappa.

Jacopo has played in many concerts for several Music Festivals in Italian cities such as Roma, Nuoro, Chieti, Bassano del Grappa, Spello, Bagnoregio as well as abroad in Istanbul, Glasgow, Ullapool and Aberdeen.

Currently, he is studying for a Masters Degree in Performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Scoltand with Matthew McAllister and Professor Allan Neave.

Tutoring Experience:

My experience as a guitar teacher started early in 2012, giving private lessons to people in my neighbourhood. Ever since, I have enjoyed teaching students, passing onto them the required knowledge and skills. However, the experience from which I have been gaining the most happened to me in the academic years 2014/2015 and 2016/2017. During this period I have been teaching students from 6 to 15 years old, either doing 1:1 lessons or taking two-students at a time in Rome for the Association ‘Musichiamo’.

Tutoring Approach:

Paramount when I work is accuracy and attention to detail, in order to maximise the results and develop young people’s potential. I believe that a teacher never stops being a student, as we can always learn from our pupils with a mutual exchange of knowledge. Above all, I am so passionate about my art form and absolutely adore what I do. Every student deserves teachers who can guide them onto their own musical pathways, and I believe that without love and passion this simply is not possible. I am driven by my youthful zest for music, and this fresh approach will certainly be welcomed.

Lessons generally last for one hour. However, 30 or 45 minutes lessons are accepted. I'm happy to provide a 30 min free of charge consultation lesson. Once a student commits to regular lessons an advance payment for four lessons is required (a refund for a lesson can be issued if 48h notice is given by the student).

For every student I choose a different and tailored learning programme, in order to achieve the best result and satisfaction for him/her.

I live in Glasgow and I can easily reach the City Center, West and East End and South side by bus.

Any questions, feel free to get in touch!
Thank you!
