Personal Description:
I am a Woodwind and Piano Tutor experienced in performing and teaching. I have an MA in Musical Performance, as well as a DipABRSM and an LRSM. I like to create a fun atmosphere in my lessons as well as focusing on technique and musicality. Grades are not the only way to progress but I do feel they help focus the student. I am comfortable teaching all ages and abilities.
Tutoring Experience:
I teach privately as well as in schools. I am experienced both in a one-to-one situation and small groups. I studied Teaching Techniques at University and I also coached undergraduate ensembles.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe Music should be fun for everyone. I praise all progress but also offer points to work upon to ensure the student improves. I also teach Music Theory alongside the performance element as I feel the more we understand the music, the better musicians we become.
