Information About Hugo - Muswell Hill teacher

Personal Description:

Hi! My name is Hugo, I am 24 and am a Jazz Trumpet player from North London. I began trumpet by studying all of my classical ABRSM Grades. I then studied a Music Degree at The University of Sussex where I obtained a first. After a year of teaching and working as a musician after University, I moved to Barcelona where I am currently studying my masters in Jazz at the Music Conservatoire whilst teaching part time. Due to my circumstances, I am only able to offer ONLINE lessons. However, they are very strongly prepared and are equally as productive and engaging as my in person lessons.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught pupils of all ages and abilities for the last 5 years, taking many through grades or working on music for general enjoyment of the instrument. I also worked as the Peripatetic Trumpet teacher in Haverstock Secondary school where I taught a range of students as well as helped organise school concerts.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to tailer my lessons to the needs and wants of my pupils. If a student would like to study grades then I will help them go through this process meticulously whilst still approaching the lessons in an enjoyable way. However, I also am very keen on doing lessons with pupils whereby I help them achieve their goals working on the music they love whilst giving helpful practice advice along the way. I can teach both Classical and Jazz, however Jazz is my speciality and very much enjoy introducing students to the beauty of improvising on the trumpet as well.
