Personal Description:

Hi, I'm Hugh. I am a professional singer, based in south Wales.
I graduated with a Post graduate Diploma in singing from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in 2004 and since then have become involved with a number of organisations, including Only Men Aloud, which I was a member of for 8 years.
I teach all ages and abilities in classical and musical theatre styles and can advise on other styles.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching in my private practice for more than ten years. I also had two years experience teaching the choristers of the Metropolitan Cathedral Choir in Cardiff.

Tutoring Approach:

This is not a one size fits all approach. Learning to sing can be a very personal and unique journey for people and so I hope to be able to help people along that journey. They may want help to pass an audition, or to take grades or exams, or maybe they just come for the love of singing.
I believe in emphasising the importance of healthy vocalisation for all singers regardless of the genre and style and so although I do not subscribe to a particular school of vocal technique, I do teach aspects of technique to promote vocal longevity and health.
