Personal Description:
I have been playing the cello since I was 7 years old, and love listening and playing all kinds of music. I am currently studying for my master's in Music Therapy and enjoy tutoring and sharing my love of music alongside my studies.
I specialise in teaching music to children and young adults with special educational needs and disabilities. My primary instrument is cello, but I have experience teaching general music and percussion to SEND students.
Tutoring Experience:
Currently provide weekly 1-1 music tutoring for a student with special educational needs and complex disabilities.
Since the end of 2022, I worked in a SEND school as a music specialist, teaching group and individual music to students aged 3-19 across the school. I have previously worked as a teaching assistant in SEND schools and mainstream primary schools.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe music tuition should be tailored to the needs of the student and should be enjoyable and never pressuring. I am happy to provide support leading up to graded exams (e.g. ABRSM), or more informally structured lessons in a range of music instruments for students with special educational needs, in which the goal of the session is musical enjoyment, exploration and engagement.
