Tutoring Experience:
I currently hold a role as Practice Assistant at Chetham's School of Music and I am a violin, viola and piano teacher at Hale Preparatory School and The Music Place in Altrincham. While being a private instrumental tutor for the past eight years I have also worked at Aura Music Academy, with the Lanarkshire Orchestral Society and the Scottish Schools Orchestra Trust. I have an up-to-date DBS.
Tutoring Approach:
I tutor to the capabilities of the student (may it be their quick ability to learn or maybe their concentration) I would gear the lengths of the lessons and amount of work covered around this. Depending on the level of the student, I would make sure they hold a healthy technique while approaching some pieces as well as covering some basic theory.
I am familiar with different styles of music (such as traditional, jazz, classical etc.) and I would be happy to put my students in for ABRSM grade exams.
