Information About Hannah - Tetbury teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Hannah:
I've been musical my whole life; having started first on guitar at age 5. Bored of frets, I fell for the viola. A beautiful round sound that always felt natural to me. I initially enjoyed tinkering by ear with pop music, but eventually realized classical music and written music were for me.
I'm currently working as a harp maker and do occasional fiddle and guitar repairs part time, but I'm also giving lessons. I received my BSc Honors degree in Musical Instruments in 2016. I have been in numerous orchestras, including a baroque ensemble, which has been my favorite.
I was assistant to the orchestra director in the Marblehead Public School district, teaching anywhere from groups of 25 to one on one. I now only teach one on one.
I stick to the tradition ABRSM Grades system. Growing up in America, where there is no grades system, I wish I could have learned the first time around with the ABRSM system. It really is the best.
I could, depending on the student, be able to teach by ear as well. It was how I originally learned, and reading classical music isn't for everyone.
*15 pounds for a half hour, or 20 for an hour. I recommend a half hour for children or beginners!
