Personal Description:
I am a graduate of the Royal College of Music, where I won the Harold Darke Prize for Organ in my final year. I completed a Masters degree at Royal Holloway, University of London and have since taught in schools, individuals and online for over 10 years. I'm also an active performer, playing for church services and concerts.
Tutoring Experience:
I teach at the Saturday School of the Triborough Music Hub where my piano students range from 7 year old beginners to teenage advanced students. Right now I'm also teaching advanced theory. Please note that I'm only teaching online right now.
Tutoring Approach:
Having fun is the key! I always approach new and challenging things from the perspective of something familiar and something fun, whether that is adults at the organ or small children at the piano. I know with my own learning, how much easier it is to learn a difficult topic of technique if I'm enjoying the process. I also have a lot of experiencing with teaching neuro diverse students. My previous students with ADHD, dyslexia or dyspraxia all have amazing brains and I love working out how to maximise their potential.
