Personal Description:

I am a passionate violinist, sound artist, composer and performer, with a specialism in music educations and a wealth of experience in the music industry. Growing up in a non-musical family and within a society that undervalued the arts, my journey in music has been defined by determination and perseverance. Despite the challenges, I have had the privilege of studying with esteemed mentors, collaborating with a wide variety of international musicians and artists, and receiving commissions and awards from prestigious organisations around the world, including the London Symphony Orchestra, London Sinfonietta, Vienna Concert Hall, Greek National Opera House, and more.

My passion for music education stems from a belief in the transformative power of music and the joy of helping others discover and develop their musical talents. I am committed to providing a supportive and enriching learning environment where students of all ages, backgrounds, and levels can explore their creativity, expand their musical horizons, and achieve their goals.

With a background in both classical and contemporary music, I offer a diverse range of expertise in violin/viola performance, composition & orchestration, music theory and music production. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced musician looking to further your skills, I am here to guide and inspire you on your musical journey.

Tutoring Experience:

Unlock your musical potential with personalized violin/viola, music theory, composition, orchestration, and music production lessons tailored to your unique journey! With a specialization in music education and over 15 years of extensive teaching experience, I have taught a diverse range of subjects in various settings.

From leading Early Years Musicianship classes at the YMC to delivering creative learning and composition workshops nationwide, I have also served as a lead tutor and lecturer at over 35 primary and secondary schools across London, colleges, universities, as well as musical charities and other educational institutions.

In our lessons, typically lasting 45-60 minutes, we'll focus on technique, repertoire, musical interpretation, and performance skills. Whether you're a beginner, intermediate, or advanced player, I'll adapt my teaching approach to meet your individual needs and aspirations.

I provide a supportive and nurturing learning environment where students can explore their creativity and develop their musical talents with confidence. With access to additional books and learning aids, several musical instruments, links to join small and larger instrumental groups, and recording facilities, you'll have everything you need to succeed on your musical journey.

Tutoring Approach:

As a teacher, my approach to music education is deeply influenced by my own childhood experiences with the Kodaly and Orff methods, as well as my exposure to the Suzuki and Dalcroze methods during my undergraduate studies. Drawing from this rich tapestry of methodologies, I aim to create a dynamic and flexible learning environment that caters to the unique needs of each individual pupil.

In my lessons, I seamlessly integrate elements of these various approaches to foster a well-rounded musical education. I place a strong emphasis on music theory and aural development, providing students with a solid foundation while nurturing their listening skills and understanding of musical concepts.

Furthermore, I believe in the power of creativity as a driving force in musical growth. I actively encourage and challenge each student to explore their own musical ideas, fostering a sense of ownership and artistic expression. Through composition exercises, improvisation activities, and creative projects, students are empowered to create and explore their own unique musical worlds.

By combining these diverse methodologies and incorporating elements of creativity into my teaching, I strive to provide a holistic and enriching musical education that inspires a lifelong love and appreciation for music.
