I'm a musician, composer, producer and educator based in North Leeds, having graduated from the Jazz Studies degree at Leeds College Of Music. I teach clarinet, saxophone and flute as well as conducting bands/ensembles, running improvisation workshops and more. I also perform regularly across the UK and Europe with a variety of projects covering jazz, hip-hop, funk, electronic music and more.
I have been performing professionally for over 15 years and have over 10 years of teaching experience. As well as long-term placements at Cundall Manor School and Wakefield City Academy, I'm currently supply teaching in schools through Leeds City Council (ArtForms) and teaching privately. I am equally happy teaching young children right through to adults, adapting my teaching style accordingly.
Lessons can cover everything from playing simple tunes of the student's choice, right through to jazz harmony and modes, improvisation, classical, composition, arranging. Music is something to be enjoyed and the focus is always on playing and having fun; however, I can guide students through all ABRSM and Trinity classical/jazz exams as appropriate. While improvised music is my main area of interest, the priorities of the student are always taken into account.

Having not played the saxophone properly for a number of years, Greg quickly established what I needed to work on to improve and also helped me with confidence in approaching how to play a piece of music. Greg just doesn't show you how, he takes the time to explain why something is like that. This makes reading music easier and therefore simpler to dissect when playing.
I am very confident Greg will be able to get me to where I would like to be and would highly recommend him to others whether that be from someone just starting to play or an experienced player.
