Personal Description:

Hello! I am a silver and wooden flute, tin-whistle and beginner piano teacher based in Greenwich, London. I teach classical, traditional and folk music. I am fully DBS-checked and have experience in teaching both individual and group classes, in-person and online. I have a first class degree in music and have played across multiple orchestras and groups through different genres. I also specialise in working with students with SEN, having worked in SEN music settings and as a personal assistant.

Tutoring Experience:

I worked at Leeds Irish Centre for two years as a flute and tin-whistle teacher, teaching Irish traditional music to a range of ages and abilities, in addition to teaching classical flute lessons privately. I have also taught and assisted in a range of workshop settings, including in schools. This year I will begin leading workshops at EFDSS as part of their inclusive folk programme.

Tutoring Approach:

I teach beginner to intermediate lessons, either in-person or online. I can teach ABRSM grades 1-8 in flute and 1-3 in piano. For traditional and folk music my preferred method is to teach by ear, but I can also teach sheet music reading and music theory. Classical flute and piano would be taught through sheet music as well as working on a range of techniques.
