Personal Description:
I am a violinist, specialising in jazz and improvisation, but with particular interest in technique that is applicable to all styles of violin playing. I havebeen workiing as a violinist since 1982, and have played on many sessions and concerts, including work for Elbow, Lamb, Steven Fretwell. I played with Gong from 2988 - 1993, and still work with Daevid Allen most years.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been giving priva**Contact Detail Removed**ssons since the early 1980s, and have taught violin (Jazz and Classical) at Salford University since 1996. I have also given workshops at the Royal Academy of Music.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach is to deliver a strong basis of technique using simple principles for pupils to apply.
I also believe in making sure that pupils gain a good grounding in music theory, particularly in understanding chord structures.
The key dea is accessibility - I want these principles to be easily graspable.
