Personal Description:

I have been involved with music for 30 years with singing, playing the church organ, and playing the piano at toddler groups. I have also been a member of many choirs over the years and performed solos at many events.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been qualified L.G.S.M. and teaching for more than 30 years with great successes both for examinations ABRSM as well as for fun! I have students of all ages many of whom do not want to do exams but play for pleasure. However, for those who want to take exams, I have had extremely good results. I also prepare students for theory exams. I take pupils of all ages from about 7 years to senior citizens!

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is student led teaching - I progress with the student's pace of learning and experience - trying to make it enjoyable for them as well as making sure that they have a good grounding in the fundamentals of playing the piano. Since the Covid 19 I have been teaching via and the internet which has been very successful and I hope to continue, although if you would like face to face and I can do this too taking all the necessary precautions.

From Wayne (5/5): After the initial meeting I did not actually proceed with lessons but that is definitely no reflection on Geraldine as it was due to my personal circumstances. However, Geraldine came across as very welcoming and knowing exactly what she was talking about.
