Personal Description:
I have been playing the classical guitar for just over a decade and I am still growing as a player. I studied the guitar in music performance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire for Music and Dance. Starting guitar towards the end of primary school, I discovered that I was a quick learner and I grasped how to read music very quickly. From then on, I have always played guitar as a past time but have chosen in the past couple of years to develop my talent into a career. I am now a guitar and ukulele teacher at schools in the area.
I can either drive to your home or if needed, lessons can be taken place at my house.
I have a strong knowledge of music, acheiving Music and Music Technology at A Level and the high understanding of music theory required by the conservatoire.
Tutoring Experience:
I am an enthusiastic and optimistic teacher, working at a music schools, as well as private schools and at Kent Music, teaching children aged between 5-18. The kids really enjoy the lessons and are always motivated to practice and work hard during my lessons with them, still keeping interest in the instrument.
I have plenty of experience working with exam boards; Trinity, ABRSM and Rockschool.
I also attain a Licentiate (Level 6) Diploma in Instrumental Teaching, specialising in the classical guitar, as well as a BMus (Hons) degree in Classical Guitar.
Tutoring Approach:
I like to be an optimistic and rewarding teacher, keeping positive for the student so they can have a positive attitude for the guitar or ukulele. I teach for one hour or half an hour. I also like to get students confident from the get go and I pursue them to perform in front of their family/friends or just in front of other students.
As well as making sure they feel they have accomplished something, I want to have enjoyed that experience, making them want to practice more at home and become a fantastic player.
I also make sure students are taught the correct technique from the beginning to avoid complications later on.
