Information About George - Norwich teacher - (1 review)
This is how 2 referees rated George:
I have studied music at the University of East Anglia and at King's College, London. As a postgraduate I have given lectures on Beethoven's string quartets and tutorials on Music Analysis. While studying music academically I have always taught and played both Violin and Viola. I have played with many quartets and ensembles locally and regard playing chamber music as one of the best experiences one can have. I will also teach Music Theory, and coach groups.
I have taught Violin and Viola for over 20 years in private practice and in Schools both private and state. I work both with children and adults in group and individual lessons. My pupils work for Music Exams, Festivals and concerts or just play for fun. I have set up and run string orchestra courses and Quartet courses for all age groups.
One of my favourite aspects of teaching is working with Adult beginners. I like to work out an individual approach and I'm very patient with any difficulties. I aim constantly to adapt to the needs of the pupil, particularly children who want to try lots of different music and styles. I like to encourage improvising and listening skills and weave these into lessons wherever possible. I think that duet playing is very important and have a huge collection of music to play with pupils.
