Information About Geoff - North Walsham teacher
This is how 3 referees rated Geoff:
I have been teaching drums professionally since 1977 when I became the youngest tutor to be accepted by the Inner London Education Authoriity (ILEA). I also worked for the Hertfordshire Music Service for many years. I have been an active performing drummer all this time and have had experience of most areas of professional music - tours; recording sessions, jingle sessions, radio, cruise liners, function bands and session work. I have a purpose built tuition studio and am a specialist in teaching the "Moeller" method of playing. I have had many students who have gone on to enjoy professional careers. Personally I have been lucky enough to receive guidance from some of the worlds finest drummers - Terry Bozzio, Chad Wackerman and the late Jim Chapin.
1977 - 1982 Inner London Education Authority as peripatetic (working in several schools) tutor.
1980 - 1997 Hertfordshire Music Service as peripatetic tutor.
1977 - today as one-to-one private drum teacher.
I was interviewed once by Rhythm magazine and they asked me my approach to drum tuition. I explained that in order to play like a drummer you must first learn to think like a drummer! What I do is to teach the student mind/body communication routines to assist performance while increasing the students awareness of "time" and "groove" i.e. think like a drummer.
