Personal Description:

I am an accomplished pianist with an eagerness for igniting and growing a passion for playing in others. I started playing the piano when I was a young child and have loved playing ever since.
I am very enthusiastic about teaching the piano and ensure lessons are fun and engaging.
Whatever genre of music you wish to learn and whether you want to simply play for your own pleasure or progress through exams, I will tailor lessons to individual desires and goals helping each pupil to achieve their best results.

Tutoring Experience:

I teach both children and adults, from beginner to advanced level.

For those pupils wishing to take exams, I currently work to the ABRSM syllabus.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a flexible and very patient approach to teaching the piano. Providing a positive and encouraging lesson is just as important to me as teaching the technical aspects of playing. Whilst it’s important to teach students good technique, to read music and to understand theory from the outset I want my lessons to be fun, and my pupils to feel they’re making solid progress. I will tailor lessons to each individual student depending on their interests, level of ability and pace of learning.

My fees are as follows:
30 mins - £20
45 mins - £30
60 mins - £40

*Please note that I only teach at my pupils’ homes. I do not conduct any lessons at my own home.

The children look forward to their lessons each week and enjoy learning. She gives me good feedback on their progress and leaves us fun songs to practise together. Would definately recommend.

After wanting to learn for a long time I decided to give it a shot at the age of 21 and I feel very happy with my progress.
Gail’s teaching style is very much tailored to what you want to learn and get out of the piano. She is thorough and explains everything extremely well. I’m enjoying learning classical pieces but I know she teaches her students a variety of genres from pop to rock.
The lessons are fun and we get a lot done in the time. Gail also leaves me with lots to do at home which has been a huge part of my progress. Knowing what to do when I’m away from the lessons and never feeling lost because I know she’s only a message away.
Every lesson is well prepared, if I’ve sent a song, she’s already written notes on the sheet for me beforehand which is amazing and has been a huge help.
I always feel encouraged and inspired after each lesson, wanting to get home and practice!

I’ve loved learning the piano with Gail and would recommend her to anyone looking to read music, and play beautifully.
