Information About Flora - Dulwich teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Flora:
My name is Flora and I began to play the violin at the age of 5. i have graduated from the Conservatorio "G. Verdi" in Milan and the Royal College of Music London in 2019. Since then I have been part of Southbank Sinfonia and I have been enjoying playing in different orchestras as a professional freelancer.
I think the best part of playing an instrument is the possibility to play with other people and I am now focused into building my career as an orchestra musician.
I started to teach violin 7 years ago in Milan, at the "Ricordi Music School" giving both one-to-one lessons and group lessons. I kept teaching when I moved to London in 2017 and since then I had students of every age from 6 to 25. I have also joined organisations and orchestras in education projects in schools in London.
I can teach in English as well as in Italian and Hungarian.
From the experiences that I had before in Italy, both in schools and in private teaching, I realized that teaching children is the best way to learn also myself. That’s why I’m always eager and excited to work with children (but also with teenagers and adults) and I find it pleasant and fundamental in our carrier development. I also have grown in a family who deeply believes in education and who founded a cultural association, called “Crescendo”, that works with children of different ages and teaches them to play in an orchestra and sing in a chorus. I had the opportunity to work with them.
I think that the most effective and powerful way of teaching is to involve the student as much as possible in what he/she is doing through technical but also funny exercises that help the student to not forget and to relax their body in order to enjoy their playing. I focus mostly on communicating the beauty of music with its values through both pieces and technical exercises.
