Personal Description:

I am an experienced professional musician who has toured national and internationally. I love playing a variety of styles of music. I've worked in theatre, with various forms of dance, with cabaret bands, blues and rock and many styles of traditional music.

I'm also a mother to two lovely girls who both enjoy playing music.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching for more than 30 years. I have taught all levels from beginners to advanced and including returning adults, and all ages from 5- 80. I believe it's never to early or too late to enjoy learning and playing music.
I have developed my own teaching style over the years and have learnt a lot from my students.
I consider my qualification to be from my years spent playing and teaching.
I have 100% distinction rate for students entering exams.

Tutoring Approach:

I work with students in a bespoke way to explore and develop their musical skills and interests.
I believe it's never too early or too late to enjoy learning and playing music. I am passionate about helping students to discover and develop their musicality.
I encourage students to try a range of styles, and to read sheet music as well as play by ear.
I am happy to teach grades, but don't pressure anyone towards entering exams if they don't wish to
I find that playing an instrument can really develop students overall confidence and well-being.
