Personal Description:
Hello!
I have Grade 8 in both Piano and Flute, and went on to study the flute further at university. Although music theory sometimes has a bad reputation… I find it extremely fascinating and I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others!
Tutoring Experience:
I have experience working as a music, drama and art teacher in various schools and settings, including summer schools in the UK, US and Portugal. Since graduating from my masters degree in Ethnomusicology in 2019, I have been teaching private music classes full-time.
Additionally, when I lived in Manchester I worked for Tutor Trust, a charity that works to help all children have access to tuition.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to teaching music is student-led and flexible - I tailor the lessons to suit the interests of the student, whether it's classical, improvisation or just a bit of fun! I believe that music has the power to transform people and help build skills that can carry you through into all areas of life, therefore lessons should be fun as well as informative and productive.
