Personal Description:

My lessons are inspiring, creative and enjoyable! I adapt each lesson to your individual needs to ensure you achieve your unique personal aspirations. I specialise in 'Adults Returning to an Instrument' as well as 'Absolute Beginners' to 'Improvers / Advanced' and teach Adults and Children (of all ages). I can prepare you for the ABRSM and Trinity exams (Grades 1-8) or tailor a course of lessons for you to experience the sheer pleasure of learning / improving your instrument.

I have enjoyed playing the Flute and Piano since I was young. I've explored different styles of music and have played with interesting groups and orchestras. I love to share my knowledge of music and my instruments with others so that as many people as possible can experience the joy of music. I genuinely love guiding students on their unique musical journeys and witnessing their progression and achievements.

Tutoring Experience:

I am a qualified teacher (PGCE) and have now been tutoring (to many happy students!) for the past 15 years. I have a 100% success rate with students who have entered the ABRSM and Trinity examinations and I have assisted students in achieving a colourful variety of musical goals which have included: accomplishing successful results in examinations, returning to an instrument, refreshing skills, starting a musical journey, gathering a repertoire of tunes for personal pleasure and special occasions.

Tutoring Approach:

I create interesting and valuable learning experiences for my students that cater for their individual aspirations and unique learning styles. I encourage an enjoyable practice in-between lessons and share skills and knowledge that will enhance your learning experience. I always received such encouraging and heartwarming feedback from my students which makes want to share my passion even more!

When Emma first met our daughter in 2019 she immediately put her at ease and soon established a rapport with her. In no time, Emma had taken our daughter's very basic note-bashing ability to a point where they were playing duets together.
