Emma offers a FREE first / introductory lesson!
I studied the flute at the Birmingham Conservatoire and I have enjoyed instrumental teaching and sharing my passion for over 20 years. In that time I have also had a performing and recording career alongside my teaching experience.
Over the last 20 years I have worked both as a private teacher and at schools around the city of Birmingham with the Birmingham Music Service. I regularly prepare pupils for ABRSM exams, ABRSM music medals and Trinity/Guildhall jazz exams. I have also successfully prepared pupils for music auditions at the Welsh College.
I have a very flexible approach to pupils learning needs and take into account what they would like to gain from their lessons. I recognise that pupils have different motivations and learning styles when developing their instrumental skills. My aim is to meet the pupils needs and I try to foster a musical and fun approach to learning. I am aware that some pupils prefer not to take exams, while others may wish to get to grade 8 and beyond. I am happy to be guided by the pupils on whether they wish to take exams or not.
