Personal Description:

Hello there! My name is Elliot, and I am a professional musician and performer from Herefordshire, who is now based in West Hampstead, North London. I have an extensive knowledge of Piano, Trumpet, Voice and Music Theory, all of which have taken me around the world, performing at famous venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, London and the Carnegie Hall, New York. I have also had a lucrative musical theatre career, performing and playing my musical instruments as the title role in Dorian Gray, The Prince & The Pauper, Once On This Island, How To Succeed in Business and the UK Tour of Grease (where I was first understudy to both Danny Zuko and Kenickie). It is between these jobs that I like to nurture students in all aspects of Music.

I have great experience in entering and prepping students for ABRSM exams in Voice, Piano, Trumpet and Music Theory in addition to LAMDA and Trinity exams for both Acting and Musical Theatre. All of my past students have passed their exams first time, with around 90% passing with distinction.

Tutoring Experience:

have been teaching people of all ages for over 4 years now in between my professional work, both privately and through external educational establishments. I hold permanent positions in Music, Drama, Dance and Singing at various academies and performing arts institutions in London, including the Wandsworth Music Centre, the Platinum Academy and the Glenlyn Academy. It is here that I teach young students the firs**Contact Detail Removed**ments of music and drama, all the way up to students in their late teens who need help preparing for their GCSEs, A Levels, LAMDA and ABRSM exams and University/Drama School Auditions. My experience as a teaching assistant at an SEN school also means that I am used to adapting my lessons to help people who have learning disabilities.

Although I believe that teaching is about more than good results, my students tend to achieve high standards, with my last LAMDA exam season seeing over 95% of students achieve a distinction in their Acting and Musical Theatre qualifications. I understand that some students need certain grades to attend a certain University or College, so it is just as important to me that they achieve such grades so they can live out their dreams and future goals, regardless if they're related to Music or Drama.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is always to ensure that the student and teacher is on the same level of status. I always find that students learn best when the teacher tutors them as an equal, so that they not only have fun, but also feel confident to debate, ask questions and take creative risks. I do this by creating a relaxed environment with various contrasting learning methods which constantly stimulate the student so they don't become bored.

I also cater every single lesson or course to the students wants, needs and aspirations. Whether a class is for an exam, an audition, or purely just for fun, it is highly important to me that I am teaching in a way that meets the students needs rather than what I deem they should want. This includes building students' confidence levels and teaching students with learning disabilities in an appropriate manner that is specific to them. For younger students, I like to incorporate more physical activities and games to help them learn the elements of music in a fun but efficient manner.

I am experienced and equipped to teach online, or in person, either at my apartment or at your own home.
