Information About Ellen - Manchester teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Ellen:
Hello, I’m Ellen! I’m a cellist studying at the Royal Northern College of Music and would love to share my knowledge and understanding of music with beginners right through to advanced pupils! As an aspiring cellist myself who wants to make a career out of music, I will be encouraging, motivational and committed to each student.
I’m currently a student at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. I teach privately in person/on line and have previously had the job of a cello tutor at Dominican College, Belfast. Though being a student, I feel that the knowledge I have of the cello is of a very high standard, enabling me to teach confidently and enthusiastically to people of all ages and standards!
When it comes to teaching cello, it’s about more than the black dots on a page. Through my teaching, I want students to be aware that they shouldn’t get bogged down too much about the technicalities of cello, but should be more focused on the type of sound, image and interpretation they want to create from a certain piece, which will overall make them better listeners, better musicians and will give them a greater understanding of musical phrasing and interpretation. All of this, and of course the right guidance of a solid technique, will make playing the cello much more enjoyable. At the end of the day we should all be happy and enjoy making music!!
