Information About Elisabeth - Purley teacher

Personal Description:

Trained by multi award winning Italian soprano Aida Meneghelli, who was herself a student of world famous Elvira De Hildalgo (the teacher of Maria Callas). I studied with Meneghelli by taking daily lessons for 5 years and eventually lived next door to her, since she became like a mother to me. I am a pure coloratura soprano and have given numerous concerts with the repertory consisting of The Queen of the Night, Lucia di Lammermoor, Kostanze, etc. I also studied at the Norwegian School of Economics and Business administration and at Columbia College, Chicago, where I studied music management. I have organized my own concerts and tours and the last 4 years i have been the fulltime manager and singing teacher for a new young artist who is now getting major press in many countries. I have combined it all with having 4 children, from age 22 to 5.

Tutoring Experience:

Fulltime manager and singing teacher for the world's first female 7string guitarist/singer/songwriter in Metal "The Commander-In-Chief", who possesses a four octave vocal range, up to b6, (full voice). The CIC is a pure coloratura and is trained in old school Bel Canto technique. When she recorded her debut album in December 2011 with her own music, she worked with a world famous producer. She used no auto tune or any kind of Pro tools magic. With her classical training she delivered stellar performances in studio all the time. She is announced to play a major festival this summer and has been featured in Major Music magazines and newspapers the last 2 months.

Tutoring Approach:

I think anyone can become a great singer, but without being a natural, it takes hard work. I strongly believe that a classical foundation makes it possible to sing anything. I do not use any new modern techniques. I use the old fashioned Italian Bel Canto technique with Vaccaj as my main book.But I also think it is important to have lots of humor to be able to keep the motivation.
