Personal Description:
I am a professional trumpet player, arranger and educator with over 15 years of experience and 10 years of further education in music. I recently graduated from Leeds College of Music where I undertook the jazz course and specialised in Trumpet.
I also play flamenco guitar and enjoy the different ways it allows me to interact with other musicians.
Tutoring Experience:
I am an experienced teacher having taught complete beginners to advanced players, from ages 6-70+ within schools, private music schools and private lessons. I also have a variety of books and handouts that I use for my lessons, for classical, jazz and flamenco music.
Tutoring Approach:
I always like to have a structured approach in my lessons. Firstly covering the fundamentals of the trumpet, such as breathing, sound, tonguing, flexibility and range exercises.
Secondly I focus on what the student wants to achieve with his trumpet playing, tailoring the lessons to each student as everyone learns differently. I can help you learn your favourite songs, how to improvise music and how to play the trumpet more efficiently.
