Personal Description:

My name is David and I am based in the North East of England and teach from home in Whickham, Gateshead (not far from the Metro Centre). I also teach online. I teach most styles:- rock, indie, blues, folk, country, jazz. I am qualified to Grade 8 level in both electric guitar (practical), acoustic guitar (practical) and popular music theory. I am also professionally qualified to Diploma level with the London College of Music (ALCM in guitar teaching). I can also teach students through the Registry of Guitar Tutors (RGT) exams. Tutoring Experience:

I have been successfully teaching for over 15 years. I taught regularly as an active musician, travelling throughout the UK, whilst I obtained further qualifications. I relocated back to my home in the North East in 2015, and my quota of students continues to grow.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a large tuition room with a vast range of guitars and amps, together with a PC, programmed with many apps and programs to make learning as easy as possible. It's a very relaxed environment which I am sure you will find comfortable, adding to the enjoyment of your learning experience. Before teaching I played in many different bands, spanning over 25 years. I still perform with other musicians as often as possible and am still active with my current band. Whether you are just starting out and want to learn a few of your favourite songs, or perhaps you as the student want to take your playing to a higher level and want to try some formal exams, I can help you achieve your goals. I tailor my lessons to suit the individual and can teach a combination of practical and theory. Most importantly though, my aim is to give my students a high quality service, as the most important thing is making them happy with their experience.
