Personal Description:

Hi my name's Dan, I am a drummer of 16 years experience and currently perform in a number of ensembles, from function bands, to jazz quartets and rock bands. I am a post graduate History student and feel I have a good approach to learning, which hopefully rubs off my my pupils.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught all ages from young children to OAPs in my practice space in Tunbridge Wells for about 5 years. I use a combination of practice techniques such as solo, duet and playing along to recorded music through an amplified PA system.

Tutoring Approach:

I feel I create a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere where a student can learn what they want to learn for whatever their specific needs are. But below is a brief outline of what one can expect.

Beginners - Rudiments, stick techniques, basic rhythms, introduction to styles etc.

Intermediate - Advanced rudiments and four way coordination, basic jazz/funk/rock/hip-hop grooves, rhythm section techniques (playing with a bass player) etc.

Casual - The world is your oyster! Everything above and much more.
