Personal Description:

I am a final year student at the Royal Northern College of Music, having also attended the Junior Royal Northern College of music when I was younger. I specialise in playing the cello, having performed as a soloist with regional orchestras as well as with the National Youth Strings Orchestra, but I have won prizes on both the cello and the piano, as well as composition (relating to music theory lessons). I am a very calm and patient character, y t enthusiastic, and never seem to have a problem getting along with people of any age or background.
It would be possible to give lessons in the Royal Northern College of Music, where there are fine grand pianos available, or else we have a quiet and spacious front room with a digital piano in our flat that would be ideal for cello lessons.

Tutoring Experience:

I have given private lessons on both cello and piano, and I lead music theory study sessions for other pupils when I was in school. All were happy customers!
I passed ABRSM Grade 8 with distinction on both instruments when I was 14/15, and with both parents being music teachers I feel that am well at home with the demands of both Trinity and ABRSM graded exam requirements.

Tutoring Approach:

Engendering musicality/musicianship is a key part of enjoying playing an instrument. Having had some excellent teachers over the years, no technical questions will be left without an answer, but I do believe that learning an instrument should first and foremost be a positive, and musical(!) experience.
