Personal Description:
Professional conductor with wide experience of choral, operatic and orchestral conducting. Studied with Kenneth Alwyn in the UK and Ilya Musin and Leonid Korchmar in Russia and have worked with musicians throughout the world. Happy to provide basic to advanced tuition on all aspects of the 'dark art' of conducting - score preparation, conducting technique, rehearsal technique.
Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds areas. Also available in London with discussion.
Tutoring Experience:
Have given private tuition to students in this country and abroad. Have also given masterclasses. I have also worked extensively with amateur, youth and school groups.
Tutoring Approach:
Structured and grounded in firm theory, but with emphasis on the emotional and aural experience of music, rather than indepth formal analysis.
