Personal Description:
Friendly and experienced teacher having worked for many years privately and in schools. I teach in person at my studio in Poole.
I can teach in most styles including classical, jazz, blues, rock and pop.
I have taught all age groups and levels and I am able to work with students towards exams or just play for pleasure.
I enjoy teaching modern classical compositions such as Einaudi and Yiruma for more advanced students.
I am also able to teach music theory, harmony, songwriting and music technology
As well as teaching I am also a music producer for film & TV
Tutoring Experience:
I have been teaching privately and in schools since around 1990. I can offer tuition either via zoom or face to face. I am also able to offer help in music theory, harmony, songwriting and music technology as I also work as a music producer for media.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach is always friendly and inclusive and I try to teach the subjects that most inspire and motivate the students. Exams are optional but I like to encourage this if possible. However, playing for pleasure is fine and I enjoy teaching well known classics, old and modern as well as jazzy and pop pieces. I can teach improvization if that is of interest.
