I’m a friendly, experienced teacher of flute, fife, recorders and music theory, trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and based in Bristol. I also teach piccolo and alto flute. Whether you’re a beginner or a ‘re-starter’, playing for fun or working towards an exam, I can help you achieve your musical goals. Children and adults welcome.
I teach at all levels – from complete beginner to post-Grade Eight.
I have an enhanced DBS check and full public liability insurance.
Twice a year I organise a concert in central Bristol, giving all my students the chance to perform solo or in an ensemble.

As a beginner player her lessons have always been attuned to my level and progression pace, balancing difficulty with encouragement. Her style is quite casual and energetic, and she knows how to guide her students and push their boundaries.
In less than a year I've learned the fundamentals (as well as a few tunes) and developed a tone that will serve as a solid foundation for the future. Thank you Clarissa!
