Personal Description:

‘Beautiful tone, beautiful heart’ – Shinichi Suzuki

I am a trained Suzuki piano teacher - a holistic child-centred method through which I nurture musical sensitivity and confidence in my pupils. Taking listening as our starting point, I focus on skill development and ear training. This makes for a natural, embodied way of learning the piano. Performance opportunities come very early on in the form of observed lessons, group class, concerts and national workshops.

I am devoted to fostering ability and life-long enjoyment of music-making in every child I teach. To make this possible, I ask for parental involvement with practising and only teach committed families.

Tutoring Experience:

I have years of teaching experience, including positions at SWS Music School in London, Surrey Arts, and Radley College in Abingdon. I currently teach at Magdalen College School and Dragon School alongside my private practice in Headington.

Tutoring Approach:

Due to its sensory focus, my teaching style can work well for children with SEN who may find it difficult to engage with other approaches. I teach children as young as 4.

My fee is £40 per 30 minute lesson.
