Personal Description:

I am a freelance musician, based in South Manchester. I am recent graduate of the Royal College of Music, where I studied for my Master of Performance (trumpet) with Jason Evans, Kate Moore, Mark Calder and David Elton. Whilst at the RCM I was fortunate to work with many renowned conductors such as Martyn Brabbins, Rafael Payare and Sir Antonio Pappano. Prior to the RCM, I studied Music at the University of Manchester, where my trumpet teacher was Jamie Prophet. I attended the Purcell School of Music from the age of 11 with composition as my principal study then later prioritised trumpet under the guidance of Tony Cross. I was also a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Wales for seven years, where I was able to gain valuable insights into the music profession from Rhys Owens, Gareth Small and Dean Wright.

Tutoring Experience:

I have experience of teaching private students of all ages and abilities. I have prepared pupils for ABRSM exams with a 100% pass rate and have also taught pupils at a more casual pace, helping them learn new music and develop their musicianship.

Tutoring Approach:

I would be flexible in the way in teach, but I would aim to build strong fundamentals and good musicianship in my lessons. I like to encourage my pupils to work towards achievable goals, such as ABRSM exams. I have been fortunate to have been taught by leading professionals for many years so I'd relish the chance to share my experience with students.
