Information About Chris - Bristol teacher

Personal Description:

I've been a professional guitarist for 13 years and my career has already taken me around the globe, playing everything from pop, R&B and soul, to rock, country & blues. In a high end line up of shows, cover bands, tribute shows and original artists, I'm as happy in a recording studio as I am performing to thousands and its these experiences I aim to impart with my guitar tuition to help make lessons exciting and relevant. I'm a versatile and creative musician, in my element whether I'm on stage, touring, in the studio, or recording remote sessions. Also a keen skier when I don't have a guitar in hand!

Tutoring Experience:

I've also been teaching for around 10 years, in a variety of educational establishments as well as privately. I have experience teaching grades (trinity or rockschool), or just showing someone how to play songs and riffs, preparing for college/university/band auditions as well as applied theory and improvisation. I teach both electric and acoustic, with plectrum or fingerstyle, hybrid or behind your head if you want a party trick!

Now I'm working in a college and secondary schools and looking to re establish a bed of committed and enthusiastic private guitar students, so I look forward to meeting you soon!

NB: i essentially just dont teach classical/spanish, heavy metal/shred or advanced jazz.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is very relaxed, personable and fun. I take care planning lessons and providing great lesson materials to suit the students ability with the suitable amount of theory (or not!) to your taste.

I believe that music is to be enjoyed, and guitars are a wonderful instrument to create music with so I strive to make sure everyone can enjoy the instrument to their full potential.

I teach in bristol/bath, chippenham areas, as well as online.
