Personal Description:
Online lessons are priority at the moment. Prices reduced to reflect this and the current situation.
I have been playing for over 20 years, and teaching for over 10.
I studied Music Composition at Kingston University and achieved a 2:1. I have a knowledge of music theory and can easily figure out songs that pupils want to learn.
I like to write music and follow other creative pursuits.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been teaching since 2010, all manner of ages from 3 to 70s. I teach Classical, Rock and Pop, on Classical, Electric and Acoustic guitar. I have put pupils through exams, all have passed. Some results were as follows:
3 distinctions, 2 merits, and 1 pass for a pupil with learning difficulties, who the parents were concerned would not pass.
Tutoring Approach:
I do not have a strict approach. I am patient and friendly. I want the pupil to have fun and feel encouraged.
I like to make sure the lessons are enjoyable and engaging, that the pupil will be interested, and learning music they like, or happy to be recommended new music to try.
Particularly with children, I like to show them music they might not otherwise come across, to show how melody, diversity and creativity are important in music.

Patient and nice teacher. Unfortunately my plans to include my five year old nephew for the lessons didn’t work out so tried to see if my three and a half year old would be interested to do lessons on his own but sadly he’s not ready yet. I will be in touch with Chris when he is ready to have lessons
