Hi, I'm Chris, a professional guitar tutor based in Leeds.
If you want to learn your favourite songs, develop your technique, improve your understanding of music theory or write your own songs – I can help you with all of these things and more. Whether you’re a complete beginner, or you’ve been playing for years, I’ll design a course of study that’s just right for you.
Since 2011 I've taught all kinds of players, from absolute beginners who just want to strum a few chords, to more experienced players who need some theory knowledge to enhance their skills. I specialise in teaching Rock, Pop, & Acoustic/Fingerstyle from Beginner to Advanced levels, but I can also give a good foundation in a wider range of styles, including Jazz, Funk, Blues, and Slide guitar.
I am a professional RGT registered tutor, I am fully DBS/CRB checked, and I have a BA (Hons) in Popular Music. I’ve been playing, performing, writing and recording music for over 16 years. I teach one-to-one lessons**Removed By Admin** skype lessons, and children's rock school band sessions.
I develop my lesson plans based on the personal interests of individual students. Most commonly I take a song-based approach, while exploring the ingredients of music. This gives the student a well-rounded experience and deeper understanding of music.
No matter what your age or skill level, you'll learn guitar in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. My approach to teaching has been described by my students as ‘constructive and engaging’, ‘really motivating’, 'clear and easy to practice from at home’, and ‘really friendly and patient’.
