Information About Chris - Hampstead teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Chris:
My name is Chris and I'm a professional cellist. I started learning the cello when I was 4 years old and enjoyed participating in many music events throughout my time at school. I studied music at Cambridge, performing regularly as a soloist, within chamber ensembles and orchestras, and have recently graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where I received a Masters in performance. I am currently working as a freelance musician, playing in several chamber groups and orchestras, whilst also teaching a range of different ages and abilities.
I have been teaching for 4 years and am presently working at Reed's School, where I teach individual lessons as well as small group classes of complete beginners. I have experience teaching at all levels, from beginner through to advanced, and am happy to take on pupils of any ability.
For me the most important aspect of music is communication, and I encourage my pupils to always have this at the forefront of their mind. Not only does this mean it’s more interesting to listen to, but it’s also more fun to play! I enjoy tailoring each lesson to the individual and adapting my teaching style to suit the pupil’s needs. I aim to give my pupils the necessary skills to develop their own musical voice, allowing their personality to come through in their playing. Whether you are just starting out, playing casually or working towards an exam, I am happy to help!
