Personal Description:

I am an enthusiastic and creative piano teacher based in Bingley, West Yorkshire.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching piano in a professional capacity for the past fifteen years, and informally for many years before that. In this time I have taught young beginners, older beginners, transfer students from other teachers, and taught refresher lessons to those who learnt in their childhood and wished to reclaim their skills.

Tutoring Approach:

I aim to develop a love of music in my students, and to that end I teach a range of material, from classical to jazz, to more contemporary songs. I also bring composition and important theory elements into lessons. I believe in the importance of continued professional development as a teacher, and I am a member of EPTA UK and The Curious Piano Teachers.

From Julie (5/5): I have been very lucky indeed to find Catherine. As a middle aged mum, I was rather nervous about starting to play piano from scratch. Catherine has a gift for putting you completely at ease. She manages to combine a wholly professional approach with warmth, encouragement and great patience. I could not wish for a better piano teacher!
