Personal Description:
I have been active as a musician and songwriter since 2010 and known professionally as Seth Taylor. I am currently the frontman and only songwriter of Stitch in Time. I play and teach guitar and bass, I sing, and also write drums and piano digitally.
Over the years I have performed at a variety of events as a member of jam groups and cover bands. I have met and worked with dozens of aspiring musicians, enjoying the dynamic creative community of London and beyond.
My influences are varied, although centered around guitar-based music and its associated genres. I appreciate any song that is original, creative and sincere. And with that in mind, I try to inspire my students to put what I teach them to good use in their own personal way.
Tutoring Experience:
I've been teaching guitar since 2015 and bass since 2021, both face-to-face and online, with up to 20 individual lessons per week. I've covered a broad range of genres, helping players build a strong foundation for anything from pop to metal.
Some of my students pursue music as a hobby and creative outlet, while others have chosen it as a career path, writing songs and performing in bands.
I also train students for Trinity Rock & Pop Grade Exams and can create complete backing tracks for own-choice songs.
Tutoring Approach:
Lessons are 60 minutes long but can also be done in two 30-minute sessions. I will provide you with notes and video material after each one and help you organize your practice routine.
Beginners will get to learn comfortably and at their own pace. I will keep everything simple and enjoyable. While we make sure that your technique is correct, we will also devote a good amount of time to songs of your choice.
Intermediate/Advanced players will get to build on their current skills, but also fix past mistakes and gain self-confidence. I can help you become a reliable, versatile and creative player and even give you guidance in starting out as an independent musician.

It's been 3 months since she started and she still loving these lessons and her progress is very noticeable. Catalin is very calm and patient with her but keep her interested on the lessons. He will send well explained and organised written work to students to practice at home. He will give you honest feedback as well. Very easy communication with him, since the beginning. He will respond quickly and accommodate dates the best he can. Highly recommended as a teacher and nice guy to have around.
