Personal Description:
I have a B.A Hons in Music. I am happy to teach students from 6 up to 106! My aim is for you to enjoy your music tuition and build on the passion to learn to play.
Tutoring Experience:
I have decades of experience in teaching music, having worked as a peripatetic teacher in schools and privately. I can coach for ABRSM examinations as well as GCSE performance and composition. I can teach piano, voice and theory. I have also been trained in accompanying. My pupils have enjoyed great results with their exams getting merits and distinctions. I am also delighted to say that my pupils do not give up playing!
Tutoring Approach:
I am lucky in as much as I have been trained to teach. I teach technique in a readily grasped manner from the beginning of your tuition. I will also teach you how to practise so that your practise is effective. I will adapt my approach to fit your style of learning and have taught people with dyslexia and with autism. I do not teach through exams, instead I will teach you to play and then coach you for an exam that you will conquer and enjoy to take. I am happy to travel to your home.
I also give half hour lessons at the rate of £25.
