Personal Description:

I am a 20 year old Composer currently studying at Birmingham Conservatoire.

"Cameron was born in Ipswich in 1991. His earlier musical interests delved into art-rock, contemporary electronics and free jazz. He was accepted into Birmingham Conservatoire on his 2nd year in 2011 to study composition. Cameron eventually started writing contemporary instrumental music with a focus around the subtleties of ambience and space. He currently works with acoustic instruments as well as electronics to create music that is reminiscent of ethereal landscapes and using the philosophy of simplicity and clarity being an important virtue. Cameron’s projects have varied from scoring short films and adverts to writing instrumental and vocal music for small ensembles and choirs. He is currently releasing electro-acoustic music as well as performing under the pseudonym “oddfellow” on Ostrich Box Records. He has had music featured on Resonance FM, myspace and has had a number of pieces played by various ensembles and at nightclubs."

I am available to tutor from June the 20th until September the 3rd.

Tutoring Experience:

I acted as a teaching assistant for 2 weeks at Dale Hall Primary School as well as offering priva**Contact Detail Removed**ssons in composition and music technology in Birmingham. I have also previously taught guitar up to grade 4 to a private student.

Tutoring Approach:

I would offer a personal and relaxed attitude towards the students music, whether they just need help with their course assignments or if they were genuinely interested in taking music extremely seriously. Again, I take a very liberal approach towards music, so my own music tends to be less formulaic then you would find in earlier classical and electronic works. I would hope that the student would go away feeling they have gained something from having another musicians point of view and help with their own music.
