Information About Calvin - Streatham teacher

Personal Description:

I am a qualified classical performance piano teacher. I have been a self employed teacher from 2002 to 2012 . I graduated from University Of West London in 2012
in performance obtaining a Bmus performance . I also studied at Goldsmiths College University Of London in 1996, doing a Bmus degree, but due to ill health did not complete the degree. I have perfect pitch, and was told about this by the choirmaster of the halle choir in manchester when i was 12/13 years of age, in manchester.

Tutoring Experience:

In the past i have taught a few pupils , one of which i started from scratch . My pupil sat the ABRSM exams in music theory and performance . my pupil gained up to grade 7 on piano grade five theory of music and has recently graduated from Canterbury University this summer with a 2:1 in music business and performance. I taught her from age 8 till 18 years of age.

Tutoring Approach:

I use the ABRSM syllabus for theory of music and performance . I also find music that i think is appropriate for the level the pupil is nearly at or to stretch the pupil.
I let the pupils keep a diary of what should be practiced for the next lesson ( i also keep a diary to see if there is progress or to work on weak area's of performance and Theory
