Information About Bob - Warlingham teacher - (8 reviews)
This is how 3 referees rated Bob:
I teach the Scottish Highland Pipes in the areas of London, Surrey and Kent. I also perform the instrument solo and with pipe bands. I am a qualified school teacher and judo instructor.
**Removed By Admin** There are also a few clips of myself, that is when I have been able to get someone else to film for me (at a few Burns Night Dinners, a wedding at Westminster Abbey etc.)
I have taught pipes (part-time) at the Gordons School (Patron: H.M. The Queen) since 1999.
I taught academic subjects in junior, secondary and special schools for 21 years.
I taught judo in schools and youth clubs over a period of 30 years.
I usually teach beginners, using practice chanter and the College of Piping's Tutor Book, or that of the National Piping Centre. I am always patient and positive, explaining at their level, and encouraging the student at every step. Most pupils make good progress, so long as they are keen and practise regularly. Once the student can play the basic movements and has memorised several tunes, he or she should be ready (dependant on age, ability and enthusiasm) to start on a set of pipes. I will advise on the purchase and can, if required, obtain a set from most manufacturers, with whom I have an account.
