Information About Blain - Stratford-upon-Avon teacher
"Songwriting is something I have enormous passion for and is all I can ever recall wanting to do. Growing up with a keen interest in writing songs and pursuing my passion into higher education has taught me that there are plenty of people, young and old who share that same passion."
An avid songwriter, Blain also has an enthusiasm for teaching. He is a firm believer that learning should above all be fun and that a tutor should teach to the interests of the student.
"Songwriting does not have 'rules', principals maybe, tools that are passed on from songwriter to songwriter. For me, teaching songwriting is not about telling a student what to write or often even how to write it - its more about bringing out the natural talent the student already has inside them from the beginning; bringing out their individual personality and unique vocabulary, and helping them to channel their inspiration to create something that is expressive, communicative and resonates with their audience."
Blain has been writing songs his whole life. He has worked with various songwriters and artists and has always sought to bring out the best in those he has collaborated with.
Things really picked up for Blain's songwriting when he looked to broaden his knowledge base by attending Bath Spa University in 2004. After graduating with a BA Honours Degree in Commercial Music (with a specialism in songwriting) he showed his dedication to honing his craft in 2008 by being one of the first seven people in the world to graduate with a Master of Arts Degree in Songwriting Craft.
Since then Blain has collaborated with a vast array of new and established artists including, Sophie Madeleine, Jez Ashurst, Barry Hunt, Tim Emmerick, Liam Blake, Carla Jae and Hannah Rei.
