Personal Description:

Throughout her time at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance as a classical saxophone specialist, Bethany undertook a series of teaching modules that have enabled her to go on to work in a number of schools and teach to a high level. Bethany took a keen interest in musical theatre and became an accomplished woodwind specialist under the care of Mel Henry, Gerard McChrystal, Mick Foster and Hale Hambleton.

Originally from Basingstoke, Bethany moved to London in 2012 for 4 years working on her craft with one of her notable performances being the Glazunov Concerto with orchestra at Southampton University and premiering 'Should Incidentally Fall' by Ian Stewart at Blackheath Halls. She has recently become a member of the 40 Fingers Saxophone Quartet who regularly gig, with their most exciting upcoming gig at Carfest in 2019.

Tutoring Experience:

Bethany currently teaches across Surrey and Hampshire in various primary and secondary schools. She also provides private evening tuition during the week and runs small workshops for children throughout the year.

Tutoring Approach:

I strongly believe in tailoring lessons that promote healthy development in all aspects of music by creating a safe, positive and fun environment to learn. Alongside my instrumental music teaching qualifications achieved at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, my teaching experience can only be described as extremely varied; with positions held as a woodwind teacher in Primary and Secondary Schools as far as London and Surrey, whilst running workshops for small children and teaching privately. My practical approach and familiarity with the different aspects of teaching allows me to tailor each individual lesson to suit any age and any ability.
