Information About Ben - Lytham St. Annes teacher

Personal Description:

I have been playing guitar for 16 years and teaching music for 4 years. I have been involved in a variety of different bands and ensembles within that time. My main focus throughout this time has been all kinds of rock music but I also have lots of experience in metal and acoustic singer/songwriter styles. I qualified from Leeds College of Music, gaining a 2:1 degree in Music Production and Performance, and possess a passion for music and teaching. I have recently completed a Post Graduate Certificate of Education in Music at Edge Hill University, achieving a Distinction in the process.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been tutoring for the past 4 years and have had many successful students. During my recent PGCE and teacher training placement I was successfully teaching students up to the age of 18.

Tutoring Approach:

I take a very professional approach to teaching and I usually like to start the student off with a song to allow them to enjoy playing immediately. No matter what their ability I find a student is always able to learn a song they know and with this approach they progress much faster. I can take you all the way from a very beginner through to advanced levels. I take a practical and direct approach and would expect the student to be involved from the very beginning.
