I am Japanese violin player/teacher, born and grew up in Tokyo. After having bachelor and Master degree at the music university in Tokyo, I had further study on Baroque violin in Amsterdam. Now I am active as baroque violin player, performing in orchestra, ensemble and as a soloist, but since I was born into a violin teacher family in Japan, I hold the passion for teaching from my young age.
My grandfather was the teacher who built his own method (not the Suzuki method but their method book have several correspondences in their approach). And I learnt through my father with the method.
I have been giving private lessons both in Tokyo (2004-2008) and here in Leeds since 2015.
I have experiences for both children and amateurs.
Also small chamber music groups with several other instruments.
I teach introduction for period instrument (baroque violin) too.
“Sing with your bow, Dance with your fingers!”!
I was born into a family of violin teachers, thus I have good materials and method from them, including;
-careful choice of repertory fitting to the student’s level.
-focusing on good ‘singing’ sound which is gained by good bowing technique.
-giving good direction for basic ‘solfège’.
Plus, I apply my knowledge and method from baroque violin playing:
-you can play with natural posture without any tension or pain in your body.
-you will obtain a good rhythmic sense based on baroque dances.
-and, It will give more flexibility on music making which encourages your individual musicality.
Through my lessons, I would like to deliver you true-joy of music-making along with good basic techniques!
