Personal Description:

I studied under a piano scholarship at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama under Professor James Kirby, a semi-finalist at the Tchaikovsky International Competition.

I am trained in accompaniment and chamber music alongside my solo training.

I have had masterclasses with Steven Osbourne, Jeremy Denk, Freddy Kempf, Llyr Williams, Richard MacMahon and Richard Ormrod.

I performed Beethoven's FIrst Piano Concerto alongside my final year recital at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching both in Music and English for a total of 8 years. During my time as Junior Auxiliary at the Junior Conservatoire at RWCMD, the department made me deputy piano professor. My responsibilities were to hold piano masterclasses, chamber music coaching, and one-to-one piano lessons.

I have experience as a Music Theory assistant to the Conservatoire's main music theory teacher, Beverley Jones.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching style is holistic where I bring in a lot of influences from other fields (music history and philosophy, physiology, and psychology) in an accessible way to help enlighten and inspire the students to explore more. This was something my professors at Conservatoire did for me and it allowed me to see how things in life connected to music in subtle ways. Music isn't just about playing the notes but bringing in life and personality into it, too. My priority is to teach my students to think for themselves, to become independent artists, to be creative thinkers.

I am energetic and passionate about transmitting my knowledge of music and its rich history from my own professors to my own students.
